Platinum 600 CME

From the time you arrive on scene until the end of patient care the most important decisions are going to occur in the first 600 seconds. We are going to refer to this as the platinum 600 to stress the fact that every second is critical during this time period in determining patient outcome. If your actions are organized, planned, and practiced you can make the most of the platinum 600 and give your patient the best chance for survival. Time is ticking and the patients life could be literally slipping away at an alarming rate. You are the first and arguably the most important stage in the trauma system and today our goal is to arm you with time based treatment plans in order to maximize your efficiency and effectiveness during the first 600 seconds of a serious trauma.

That was a glimpse of our new CME, Platinum 600.  A approved .5 lecture course for the Paramedic at American CME.  This continuing medical education course goes over the first ten minutes during a trauma.  A must view!!!  Our free, no cost education is available everyday for you.   We would love to hear your feedback on this and every other course we produce.  It is your comments and suggestions that continue to help make our education the best possible.

Bed Bugs CME

You may not recall the first time you heard it, but there is no doubt that you are familiar with the old saying, “sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite”.  This historical phrase finds its origin during a time period when bed bugs where public enemy number 1 around much of the United States and Europe.  Early colonist more than likely brought them to North America.  Their reign as enemy number 1 in the United States lasted hundreds of years, but was brought to an abrupt end shortly after World War II due to the effectiveness of the pesticide DDT.  Despite the rich history of the bed bug in America many of us probably wouldn’t recognize one or the signs of their infestation even if it were staring us in the face.

Coming soon, American CME will be adding one of our latest continuing medical education course, Bed Bugs.  This course is approved for .5 lecture credits and is offered in a video based production format.  Remember, all our our courses are at no cost, we want EMS personnel to have a tool they can use to learn from.
